We recently read in Ecocult about the #LowestWageChallenge, a campaign launched by conscious lifestyle brands ABLE and Nisolo to bring more awareness to the low wages that most workers who make our products earn. According to the #LowestWageChallenge campaign, only 2% of fashion factory workers worldwide earn a living wage.
At Boma, we're happy to join the #LowestWageChallenge campaign and share some of our numbers. To find the living wages for our workers we've used numbers taken from the Thai Ministry of Labor and summarized by the Fair Labor Association.
